Rising damp treatment without injection: comparing options
Illustrative image.
Define the problem being compared
Before comparing injection with a device, establish the moisture mechanism under consideration. An approach intended for rising damp is not an automatic answer to rain penetration or condensation. Options need to address the same identified issue for a useful comparison.
Compare the scope and constraints
Ask what each proposal includes: preparation, installation, finishing repairs, follow-up and additional interventions. A non-injection option can still require repairs to other water sources. Conversely, a general description of injection does not establish suitability for every type of masonry.
Document the decision
Keep the building-specific explanation, qualifications and product documents. Compare written warranty terms rather than slogans. For ATE and ATG, check power and positioning requirements. If two proposals rely on different explanations of the damp, resolve that disagreement before treating the price as the deciding factor.
